Expert college counseling with Keeon Gregory

ABOUT MY SERVICES
Hi, I’m Keeon Gregory.
For more than 30 years, I’ve seen the college admissions process from every angle, first as a university admissions officer reviewing applications and for the past two decades as a Dean and Director of College Counseling in independent schools guiding students and families through the college admissions journey.
I’ve personally visited over 300 colleges and helped place more than 1,500 students into colleges across the country and abroad, including Ivy League universities, selective liberal arts colleges, and major state flagships.
With more than 10 years of admissions experience serving as Associate Dean of Admissions at the University of Rochester, Ithaca College, and Wittenberg University, as well as 20+ years serving as a Dean of College Counseling, I have read and edited more than 10,000 college essays throughout my career. That experience continues today through my work as an application reviewer and evaluator for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Knowing the college essay and developing the student activities list can be one of the most stressful parts of the application process, I help students approach their Common Application, supplemental essays and activities lists with comfort, confidence, and authenticity.
Having worked on both sides of the admissions desk and made countless admission decisions, I help students present themselves in the strongest and most compelling way possible to allow them to shine.
At Sunrise College Consultants, I have focused on creating innovative programs that support families through the college process in a thoughtful, personalized way. Through my work with the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools, I have served on the annual college counselor conference planning committee and as moderator for the College Deans’ Panel.
Over the years, I have been sought after nationally for podcast conversations (Ex. Application to Admission, Ep. 43 with Keeon Gregory), numerous college advisory board service, and presentations at conferences such as the SACAC Annual Conference and NACAC National Conference, contributing to ongoing dialogue in college counseling and college placement.
